Sofie Cross Bottle Tote

Writer's picture: A.TaylorA.Taylor

Updated: Jun 3, 2024

This Bottle Tote is the second pattern in the Sofie Cross Collection.

Pattern Inspiration

I created this tote for my daughters and I so we could carry our water bottles hands free while out on walks in the summer. I love playing with stitch combinations to create visual texture, and I wanted it to be interesting to look at and fun to make.

About this Pattern

It calls for a medium worsted (#4) weight, and a 5mm size H crochet hook.

I used Bernat Handicrafter 100% Cotton.

This pattern is worked from the bottom up. From there you will work up to the top, create and attach the strap.

This pattern is rated for Beginners in pattern difficulty.  All the stitches used are basic crochet stitches, though some require skipping stitches, and stitching back into the skipped stitches.

I used approximately 150 yards for the bottle tote. You can use more or less depending on the length of your handle.

Gauge

2" = rows

2" = 8 stitches

Pattern notes:

Ch 3 doesn’t count as a stitch unless indicated.

Pattern Variation:

In rounds 13, 15 and 17: Ch 3, sk st, dc in next st, dc in previous st behind last dc, repeat from to end of round, sl st to join

Materials needed

1 skein Handicrafter yarn, about 150 yards

5mm size H crochet hook, or hook to obtain gauge
